Sunshine, Picnics, & Record playing Date Night Session // Minneapolis, MN

Summer nights have a magic all their own, especially when shared with someone special. Recently, I had the joy of documenting a date night for a couple whose love for each other and life's simple pleasures was palpable from the moment I arrived.

The night began in their cozy home, where we quickly filled the air with the sound of vinyl spinning on a turntable. I immediately needed them to dance and spin away in the living room! We also had to grab some photos with their beloved record collection, of course!

From there, we moved to the heart of the home: the kitchen. Here, amidst the preparations for a picnic, I captured some subtly steamy shots as they playfully interacted while assembling a delightful charcuterie board and jumped on the counter for something more cuddly.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm, golden glow over everything, we ventured outside. It was the perfect summer evening, and they wasted no time in spreading out a picnic blanket on the lush grass. More photos followed – eating the snacks, laughing, and just being themselves, framed by the glowing sun peeking through the trees.

One detail that stood out to me and I really got a kick out of, was his bracelet, with the word "delicious," Which sparked a nostalgic moment for me about Fergie's iconic song, and if you grew up on this like me, you just get me! It was a fun reminder of the quirks that make relationships unique and special, because they all have their funny little jokes and moments together.

Just when I thought the evening couldn't get any more perfect, they mentioned their moped in the back. Without hesitation, we seized the opportunity for a few spontaneous photos – him in his element, her holding onto him tightly – capturing the essence of their adventurous spirit speeding through the alleyway.

As the session drew to a close, I couldn't help but feel privileged to have witnessed and documented such an authentic display of love and joy. From the dance floor of their living room to the back alley where their moped stood, every moment of this summer date night session was a testament to their bond. It was more than just a photoshoot; it was a celebration of their relationship, wrapped in the warm embrace of a perfect summer evening.
